Intercultural Program Focused on Knowledge Exchange Between Ecuadorian Indigenous Communities and Native Americans

The intercultural program aimed to facilitate Intercultural Program Focused on Knowledge Exchange Between Ecuadorian Indigenous Communities and Native Americans, with the goal of strengthening mutual understanding, promoting appreciation of cultural diversity, and fostering dialogue between traditional knowledge systems.

Field Development and Observation

The program took place from December 28, 2013, to January 16, 2014,and included field observations in Quito, Mitad del Mundo, northern Pichincha, Imbabura, and the provinces of Pastaza.These activities provided opportunities to analyze the relationships between culture, territory, and sustainable practices within the participating communities.

Academic Direction

The program was led by Professors Mark Bellcourt and Jay Hatch from the University of Minnesota, who guided the academic and cultural exchange process, strengthening international educational cooperation and fostering an intercultural perspective among participants.
