Work in public, private, or community organizations is a crucial component of intercultural study programs, as it allows students to understand and value cultural differences and worldviews,\u00a0<\/span>Individual Projects or Internships<\/strong>\u00a0Students are supported in developing participatory research and community service projects, often within non-governmental organizations. \u201cWhat a great experience! The first week at the hospital was challenging because I had little supervision or direction. I didn\u2019t know exactly what I was supposed to do or how I could help. However, after observing how the hospital operates and becoming familiar with the staff, I learned that all I had to do was ask questions. If I wanted to spend time in gynecology or internal medicine, there was no problem. All the doctors and nurses I worked with were very receptive and willing to help me learn. I am grateful to have been responsible for the success of my internship, as I grew personally and professionally by taking initiative. CONVIVENCIA CON FAMILIAS ANFITRIONAS Investigaci\u00f3n – Pasant\u00edas – Testimonios Convivencia Vivir con una familia ecuatoriana brinda a los estudiantes una experiencia aut\u00e9ntica y profundamente enriquecedora. Esta oportunidad no solo mejora sus habilidades en espa\u00f1ol a trav\u00e9s de su uso en contextos reales, sino que tambi\u00e9n les permite comprender a fondo la cultura, los valores y las tradiciones de los pueblos andinos, inmersos en su entorno social, pol\u00edtico y cultural. La convivencia fomenta una integraci\u00f3n genuina, al convertir a los estudiantes en parte activa de la familia, participando en actividades cotidianas y celebraciones. Esto no solo enriquece su aprendizaje, sino que tambi\u00e9n genera lazos significativos de amistad y afecto que a menudo perduran mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del tiempo de los programas acad\u00e9micos. El programa de\u00a0Proyectos Individuales o Internados\u00a0apoya a los estudiantes en el desarrollo de investigaciones participativas y servicios comunitarios o en organizaciones no gubernamentales. Durante las pasant\u00edas, los estudiantes deben combinar sus observaciones de campo con teor\u00eda para crear una monograf\u00eda sobre la realidad ecuatoriana, apoyados por tres seminarios acad\u00e9micos que fortalecen la metodolog\u00eda y t\u00e9cnicas de investigaci\u00f3n. No sab\u00eda exactamente qu\u00e9 deb\u00eda hacer ni c\u00f3mo pod\u00eda ayudar. Sin embargo, despu\u00e9s de observar c\u00f3mo funciona el hospital y familiarizarme con el personal, aprend\u00ed que todo lo que ten\u00eda que hacer era hacer preguntas.
