Knowledge to Transform Realities<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Research conducted in the Pedro Moncayo canton has become a cornerstone for understanding the social, cultural, environmental, and health impacts associated with agricultural development in the region. Through participatory methodologies, community assessments, and specialized interdisciplinary studies, CIMAS has generated knowledge that not only reveals local challenges but also guides concrete proposals to improve the quality of life for the population.<\/p>

The development of innovative tools, such as the Community Local Information System (SILC)\u2014awarded First Prize in the Latin American and Caribbean Context for Health Technologies in 2014\u2014has been fundamental. This integrated platform brings together social, environmental, and health data to support territorial planning and evidence-based public policy formulation. It allows for a comprehensive understanding of multidimensional trends in social, economic, cultural, environmental, and public health determinants associated with the international-market-oriented flower production model.<\/p>

INVESTIGACI\u00d3N\u200b Conocimiento para transformar realidades Las investigaciones realizadas en el cant\u00f3n Pedro Moncayo se han convertido en una piedra angular para comprender los impactos sociales, culturales, ambientales y en la salud asociados al desarrollo agr\u00edcola en la regi\u00f3n. A trav\u00e9s de metodolog\u00edas participativas, evaluaciones comunitarias y estudios interdisciplinarios especializados, CIMAS ha generado conocimientos que no solo revelan los desaf\u00edos locales, sino que tambi\u00e9n orientan propuestas concretas para mejorar la calidad de vida de la poblaci\u00f3n. El desarrollo de herramientas innovadoras, como el Sistema de Informaci\u00f3n Local Comunitaria (SILC) (Primer Premio en el Contexto Latinoamericano y del Caribe sobre Tecnolog\u00edas en Salud, 2014), ha sido fundamental. Esta plataforma integrada re\u00fane datos sociales, ambientales y de salud para apoyar la planificaci\u00f3n territorial y la formulaci\u00f3n de pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas basadas en evidencia.
